Nancy J. Schreckengost

Nancy J. (Mitchell) Schreckengost, age 78, of Dayton, PA, died on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Country Care Personal Care Home, Templeton.

She was born April 25, 1940, in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Benjamin W. and Edith (Mauthe) Mitchell.

Nancy enjoyed watching television and shopping. She loved caring for her family and the greatest memories with them were spending time at Conneaut Lake and Kennywood Park. Nancy adored her cats, especially Henry.

She is survived by her son, Lonnie R. Schreckengost and wife, Judy, of Dayton; two step-sons, Robert G. Hollobaugh of Timblin, and Michael Hollobaugh and wife, Sherry, of Penn Hills; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Mitchell of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Ray Glenn Schreckengost whom she married July 28, 1957 and who died June 15, 2008; an infant son, Victor Glenn Schreckengost; three brothers, John, Richard, and William Mitchell; and three sisters, Dorothy Pryor, Norma Fair, and Sarah Schaeffer.

Friends will be received from 11 AM - 1 PM on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 E. Main Street, Dayton, PA, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Justin Lamison officiating.

Contributions may be given her memory to the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, PO Box 997, Kittanning, PA 16201, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
