James W. Craig, 74, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at ACMH Hospital.

He was born January 30, 1944 in White Twp., Indiana Co., PA, the son of Waldo W. and Erma L. (Reeger) Craig.

Jim was a longtime resident of Shelocta and honorably served in the US Army. He was the owner of Craig Sanitation from 1972 until 1990, and from 1990 until his retirement in 1998, Jim worked as a custodian for the Armstrong School District.

He loved being outdoors and had fond memories of hunting with his children and grandchildren. Jim was a gifted woodworker and took great pride in caring for his yard. He also enjoyed gardening and growing his own tomatoes. Jim never missed an opportunity to let his children and grandchildren know that they were his top priority, and his family will always remember how much he loved them.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 54 years, Kaye (Altman) Craig, whom he married April 22, 1963; sons, James Scott Craig, of Rural Valley, Vince D. Craig and wife, Sarah, of Dayton, PA, and Barry L. Craig, of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Penny Knight and husband, James, Chad Kamody, Shane Craig, Katie Craig, John Craig and Chris Craig; and great-grandchildren, Bricen, Ethan, Avah, Alena and Vivian.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law, David S. and Denise M. (Roddy) Craig, who died June 13, 2004; and sister, Connie Craig.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arlene Schweitzer officiating.

Interment will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Five Points, PA.
