Frances J. Miles

Frances J. Miles, 89, of Harborcreek, PA, formerly of Dayton, PA, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the home of her son.

She was born June 8, 1928 in New Bethlehem, PA, the daughter of John and Edith (Crissman) Anthony.

Frances was a long-time resident of the Dayton area and formerly attended Belknap United Church of Christ. She was a gifted cook and baker, and had a large collection of cookbooks. Frances worked as an assembler at the Jensen Speaker Company and loved reading during her free time.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Robert Schreckengost and wife, Tillie, of North East, PA, John Schreckengost and wife, Marlene, of Pittsburgh, and David Schreckengost and wife, Susan, of Harborcreek, PA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Anthony and wife, Ruth, of Frederickstown, OH; and sister, Elva Odean Sumpter and husband, Jim, of California.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Lorrain E. "Hap" Miles, who passed away October 6, 2003; son, Larry Schreckengost; brothers, Charles Crissman and Calvin Anthony; and sisters, Rose Weston, Ethel Houser and Wilda Colish.

At Frances' request, services will be private.

Interment will be in McCrea Furnace Cemetery, New Bethlehem, PA.
