Mertie Jean McNichols

Mertie Jean McNichols, 68, of Ford City, PA, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at her residence.

She was born May 24, 1949 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Charles D. Miller, Sr. and Ada (Hendershot) Miller Hogenmiller.

Mertie was a lifelong resident of the area and loved riding her motorcycle. She had a love for all animals and would take in any animal without a home to care for it. Mertie would help anyone in need and will be remembered for her generous spirit.

Her memory will be cherished by her mother, Ada Hogenmiller, of Texas; brother, Charles D. Miller, Jr., of Kittanning; sisters, Charlesetta Bleakney and husband, Robert, of Kittanning, Shirley Schall and husband, Robert, of Kittanning, Susan Adams and husband, Allen, of Kittanning, Kathy Wasson, of Georgia, and Connie Dryden, of Texas; grandchildren, Kolten and Kane Bricker, of Leechburg; son-in-law, Jason Bricker, of Leechburg; companion, Randy Walker, of Ford City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mertie was preceded in death by her father; step-mother, Gertrude M. Miller; step-father, Joseph Hogenmiller; daughter, Angela Bricker; and one infant son.

At the family's request, services will be private.
