William L. ''Bill'' Baum, Sr.

William L. "Bill" Baum, Sr., 83, of Kittanning, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 7, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 17, 1933, in Kittanning, the son of Pearl (Johnston) Konhauser and William Howard Baum.

Bill was a machinist at PPG in Ford City and Pullman Standard in Butler. He retired in 1999 from West Penn Power where he worked in operations. He was a volunteer fireman, joining Hose Company 6 in 1963 and he was very involved with their ambulance service. Bill participated in the very first EMT class held in Armstrong County.

Bill was a member of the Kittanning Church of God and enjoyed hunting, bowling and watching Pittsburgh Sports. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He will best be remembered by his family as a simple caring man who loved his family more than anything and always cared about others more than himself.

Bill is survived by sons, William L. Baum, Jr. and companion, Kathy Milasus, of Natrona Heights, Terry L. Baum and wife, Connie, of Shelocta, Ricky A. Baum and wife, Rachel, of Greenville, SC, and Jamie R. Baum and wife, Tammy, of Kittanning; daughter, Kimberly A. Shankel and husband, Charles, of Kittanning; brother, Lawrence Baum and wife, Jane, of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Terra Griffith and husband, Jason, Tyler Baum and wife, Chelsea, Bradley Shankel and wife, Kristen, Kayley Baker and husband, Jeff, Collin, Dylan, Grant and MacKenna Baum, Donnie Frum, Olivia Spring, and Kayden Baum; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Thomas and Amanda Crosby; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Baum, Marlee Thomas, Finley Griffith, Landon Shankel and Brandon Crosby.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn "Kay" (Watt) Baum, who died December 15, 2011; daughter, Tracey L. Frum, who died May 30, 2012; and great-grandchild, Michael Thomas.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, July 10, 2017, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, where the firemen from Hose Company 6 will hold a Fireman's service at 7:00PM.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Kittanning Church of God, 201 Smith Street, Kittanning, with the Rev. Robert W. Grimm officiating.

Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
