TARA - KRAYNAKS - DAFFINS {November 15, 2017}
Getting ready for the holidays, Bauer Steps Ahead visited the beautiful historic Tara Country Inn on Tuesday November 14th. After a family style feast we stopped by Kraynaks to take in the sights and sounds of Christmas. We ended the day with something sweet from Daffins Candies.POTOMAC SCENIC RAILROAD {October 25, 2017}
On October 24th, Bauer Steps Ahead began a 3 hour tour at the Wappocomo Station, West Virginia. We enjoyed a full course meal in the club car while enjoying the sounds of vintage diesels as they led us through beautiful pastures and farms dating back to the 1700s. As we rode along the South Branch of the Potomac River, we entered a visually-striking gorge known as the Trough, home of the American Bald Eagle. We had the opportunity to see the Eagles nest while they soared above.ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY - October 17, 2017 {October 17, 2017}
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway program is an effective way to reduce litter removal in Pennsylvania. The Bauer-Bly Funeral Home in Dayton has been a dedicated participant of the Adopt-A-Highway program since 2001 by adopting a 2.4 mile section of SR 839 highway south of Dayton, PA. In the spring and fall of each year our staff takes part helping towards this beautification initiative and caring for the environment by removing the litter along this Pennsylvania highway. Over the years and up to this date we have collected 508 bags of litter. WOW! The Adopt-A-Highway Program in Pennsylvania has had more miles adopted than any other state in the nation! We too take great pride in helping towards this project.HOLIDAY GRIEF: "Surviving the Season" {October 16, 2017}
