Audrey P. Schall

Audrey P. Schall, 85, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Beacon Ridge in Indiana, PA.

She was born April 24, 1929 in Elderton, PA, the daughter of Miles T. and Eleanor (Say) Schall.

Audrey lived most her life in Plumcreek Twp. and graduated from Elderton High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor's degree in education and taught kindergarten through sixth grade. Her first position was at Spaces Corners Elementary, and she was pleased to teach at the school for 22 years. Audrey next educated the students at Kittanning Township Elementary, remaining there until she happily retired in 1991. Her calling in life was teaching, and it was evident to all who knew her just how much she loved investing in the lives of her students.

Audrey had many hobbies, including golfing and bowling. She also played basketball in high school. She was a member of Whitesburg United Methodist Church. Audrey cherished the time she spent with her family, and they will never forget her love for them.

Her memory will be carried on with love by her nieces and nephews, Jerry Schall and wife, Karen, of Elderton, Merilyn Meyers and husband, Paul, of Elderton, Mike Schall and wife, Cindy, of Indiana, PA, Becky Elkin and husband, Larry, of Elderton, Chuck Olinger and wife, Sandy, of California, Kenny Johnston and wife, Sandra, of Mercer, and Linda Obrian and husband, Don, of Sharon; eight great-nephews; 10 great-nieces; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Sandy Johnston, of Sharon, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Merle T., Harold and Frank Schall; sisters, Marion S. Johnston, Lorna S. Olinger and Pauline Schall; and nephew, Fred Olinger and wife, Jonette.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Edward Gray officiating.

Burial will follow at Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania.
