Sandra Ellen Meyer

Sandra Ellen Meyer, age 67, of Elderton, went to be with her Lord after a two-year battle with leukemia on Monday, March 12, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born May 5, 1944 in South Bend Twp., Armstrong Co., to Charles H. and Geraldine (Kepple) Cessna.

Sandra was a resident of the area all her life and was an active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She formerly drove school bus for the Smith Bus Company with over 35 years of service and loved interacting with the students. Quilting was one of her favorite hobbies, but she was happiest when spending time with her family. Sandra enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and her loving and helpful nature and strong faith in God will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Her memory will be cherished by her mother Geraldine Cessna of Shelocta; loving husband of 47 years, Donald E. Meyer, who she married February 15, 1965; son, Steven E. Meyer and wife Patricia, of Fountain Inn, SC; daughter, Michelle E. Filler and husband Brian, of Fountain Inn, SC; grandchildren, Sam and Justin Romanie, Megan Filler, and Patrick and Steven Meyer; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and Victor Cessna, both of Shelocta, and Thomas Cessna, of Dillsburg; and sister, Ruby Bullion, of Shelocta.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Cessna.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 PM on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 South Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 449 Girty Rd., Shelocta, with Pastor Kevin Rea, Pastor Sharon Waltenbaugh, and Pastor Craig Lindahl officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Girty, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sandra's honor to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, 449 Girty Rd., Shelocta, PA 15774.
