Oliver D. Walters, Jr.

Oliver D. "Buster" Walters, age 76, of Ford City, PA, went home with his Lord on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born on June 19, 1935 in Somerset, PA to Oliver D. and Hettie (Barr) Walters, Sr.

Oliver was hard working and he held many different jobs over the years. He loved flying, woodworking, puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Oliver honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He will be best remembered for tinkering and his ability to fixing anything.

His memory will be carried on with love by his two sons, David Kevin Mangus and wife, Nancy, of Willow Springs, NC and Lincoln Mangus and wife, Susan, of Vandergrift; daughters, Sandy Buterbaugh and husband, Raymond, of Burrell Twp., Judy Clemens, of Canton, OH, Dorothy Rowlands and husband, Geoffrey A., of Canton, OH, Patricia Goodman, of Burrell Twp. and Wanda Walls of Clymer; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Scott, of Vandergrift, Joan Kunselman, of West Leechburg, Dorothy Thorton, of Greenville, TX, Virginia Napier, of Galloway, OH and Linda Gohn, of Spring Church, brothers, Dale Walters and wife, Margaret, of Apollo, Jack Walters and wife, Sharon, of Newton Grove, NC, Floyd Walters, of Greenville, TX and Carl Walters, of Vandergrift.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Nancy J. Walters, who he married on January 20, 1973 and who passed away on June 30, 2008; son, Daniel Walters; sister, Hazel Scott; and brothers, Neal Walters and Harry Walters.

Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 449 Girty Rd., Shelocta, PA, with the Rev. Arnold T. McFarland officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given in Oliver "Buster's" honor to the UPMC Cancer Center in Indiana, 850 Hospital Rd., Indiana, PA 15701.
