Sonya Lynn Frederick

Sonya Lynn Frederick, 51, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born May 8, 1962 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Leonard Lee and Martha (Dill) Denardo.

Sonya was a lifetime resident of the area and was the kitchen manager for the Kittanning Elks Lodge. She was also a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In her younger years, Sonya enjoyed playing bingo, and she also liked to read, knit and crochet. Family was paramount in her life and she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. Sonya will be best remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.

She will be greatly missed by her mother, Martha (Dill) Denardo, of Kittanning; loving husband of 33 years, William C. Frederick III, whom she married June 20, 1980; daughters, Heather Lynn Frederick and Ashlei M. Frederick and husband, Mark Cogley, all of Kittanning; grandchildren, Hunter W. and Mason J. Cogley, and Lane T. Frederick; brother, Leonard L. Denardo, of Kittanning; and sisters, Kimberly A., Deborah M. and Brenda A. Denardo, all of Kittanning.

Sonya was preceded in death by her father.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the funeral home, with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.

Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
