Dale L. Fleming

Dale L. Fleming, 75, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 26, 1937 in Indiana, PA, the son of Frank M. and Genevieve (Bierer) Fleming.

Dale was a resident of the Shelocta area all of his life. He honorably served his country in the US Army from 1957 - 1958. He formerly worked as self-employed truck driver, hauling for Megnin Cooperage Mills for forty-five years before retiring in 2013. Dale was very talented in many different things. He could make or fix anything. One of his proudest accomplishments is the dog house he crafted for his beloved Rottweiler Gus that is an exact replica of his home he shares with wife Nancy. Dale was also an avid NASCAR fan and would cheer for anyone driving a Ford. He will be best remembered for his sense of humor, his hard work ethic and his fun loving spirit.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy (Edwards) Fleming, whom he married May 20, 1960; sons, David L. Fleming and fiancé, Kandace Altman and Brian D. Fleming and Trisha Dunmire, all of Shelocta and Keith A. Fleming and Debbie McIntyre of Dayton; grandchildren, Lindsey Marie Fleming, Kiersten Dawn Fleming and Haley Renee Fleming; great-grandchildren, Ivan Troutman, Maria Burke and Melia Snow; brother, John Fleming and wife Lois of Tavares, FL; sister, Karen S. Gresock and husband George of Indiana, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Joyce Dix Weiers officiating.

Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.
