Virginia Irene Mazzotta

Virginia Irene (Walker) Mazzotta, age 91, of Templeton, PA, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 13, 1920 in Templeton, to George Walker and Mary Ethel (Murtland) Walker.

Virginia lived in the Templeton area all her life except for 10 years spent in Maryland and one in Butler, PA. She graduated from Kittanning High School in 1938 and was a member of Templeton Presbyterian Church. Virginia worked in various department stores and the Five-and-Ten Store in Kittanning over the years, as well as the dietary department at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

Virginia loved to work outside in her yard and was known for her wonderful yard and beautiful flowers. She enjoyed reading and shopping, and was an excellent cook.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Kay Kammerdiener and husband John, of Templeton, and Georgia Carol Cornman, of Manorville; grandsons, Jeffrey Forringer and Jason Cornman and wife Nicole; granddaughters, Pamela Woodside and husband Steve, and Lisa Aden and husband Steve; brother, John F. Walker of Adrian; and friend and companion, Harry "John" Armstrong, of Templeton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles A. Forringer who died in May 1970; second husband, Frank A. Mazzotta, who passed away in April 1979; son, Jon Michael Forringer; and granddaughter, Jamie Bletrick.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 3, 2011, with Pastor Paul Rihel officiating.

Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Armstrong Co.
