Alan L. Blystone

Alan L. Blystone, 78, of South Bend Twp., PA, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, PA.

He was born June 24, 1947 in Sagamore, PA; the son of Lloyd Bruce and Anna Marie (Harkleroad) Blystone.

Alan was a 1965 graduate of Elderton High School and went on to attend Penn State. A lifelong resident of Armstrong County, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Alan worked many years as a maintenance manager with Pennsylvania Dept. of Transpiration in Indiana County.

Alan was a lifelong car enthusiast and enjoyed buying and selling cars. He enjoyed following NASCAR, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and traveling to Myrtle Beach. Alan treasured time spent with his family, especially at gatherings with his nieces and great-nieces,

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Deborah A. (Smeltzer) Blystone whom he married in 1968; and his sister, Marlene McRoberts and husband Melvern of Rochester, PA; sisters-in-law, Sally (John) Weaver of South Bend Township and Pamela (David) Adams of Kittanning Township; nieces and nephews, Kristin (Matthew) Phillipine of Bonita Springs, FL, Holly (Greg) Thall of Califon, NJ, Bruce (Stephanie) Yost of Huntington, WV, and Beth (Tim) Tanis of KY; his great-nieces, Emily, Natalie, Capri, and Addison; and family friend, Gary Toy.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Barbara Yost

Services will be held privately.

Interment will be in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
