Arthur W. "Art" Morrison, 96, of Kittanning, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at Grey's Colonial Acres. A man of many talents and deep community roots, Art left a lasting mark on Armstrong County through his decades of service, trade, and leadership.

Born in Garrets Run on December 15, 1929, to Frank B. and Audrey (Sherman) Morrison, Art dedicated his early years to serving his country and his community. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving four years during the Korean War in the amphibious force aboard the USS Donner, Catamount, and Lindenwald.

Upon returning to civilian life, Art worked as an ironworker and was a proud member of Ironworkers Local #3 of Pittsburgh. However, many will remember him best for his 33-year career as a self-employed auctioneer. He remained a respected member of both the Pennsylvania and National Auctioneers Associations until his retirement in 2006.

Art was a pillar of his community and a man of deep faith, belonging to St. Luke's United Church of Christ and V.F.W. Post #4843. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Coudersport Consistory, and a former member of the Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh. His leadership was particularly noted at Kittanning Lodge #244 F. & A.M., where he held the unique distinction of being the youngest Master in the history of the lodge and its oldest living Past Master.

Outside of his work and community service, Art was a man of many interests, including his status as a licensed private pilot and a member of the NRA. He found great joy in the outdoors through hunting, fishing, and trapping, and he always enjoyed a good game of pool.

Art's legacy continues through his daughter, Brenda L. Kresicki of Mesa, AZ, as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving companion and caregiver, June Cravener of Kittanning, who provided exceptional care and support.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his half-brother, Galin Morrison; and his beloved wife, Mary E. (Cosgrove) Morrison, whom he married on Feb. 6, 1956. He was also preceded by his son, Lanne Morrison, who passed away in 2017.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201

Additional visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of services at 11 A.M. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward A. Walters officiating. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Kittanning Cemetery in Rayburn Twp, PA.
