E. Arlene Claypool

E. Arlene Claypool, 89, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 at Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Kittanning, PA.

She was born on June 19, 1936 in Kittanning PA, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Mary Edna (Mock) McElfresh.

Arlene was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, where she formerly sang in the choir. She served the Ladies Auxiliary for the Burrell Township Volunteer Fire Department and was previously their Vice President. Arlene enjoyed crafts, decorating, baking cookies and especially cherished the Christmas season. She also belonged to the Brick Church Homemakers Club, the Knotty Ladies Sewing Group, that created pillows and lap quilts for Grane Hospice, the organization that later provided her with compassionate care.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Judy Kienzle and husband, Chuck of Ford City; step-grandchildren, Joey Kienzle and spouse, Cole Steiss and Ashley Teuteberg and husband Tim; step-great-grandchild, Trey Guadagni and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband David O. Claypool, who passed away on May 31, 1987; son, Joseph D. Claypool, who passed away on June 29, 2011; brothers, Richard, Robert, Walter, and Earl McElfresh; sisters, Helen Claypoole, Jean Mikula and her twin sister, Dorothy Foster.

Services were privately held.
