Nathan Lloyd Seymour

Nathan Lloyd Seymour, 48, of College Park, MD, formerly of Rural Valley, PA, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.

He was born on March 28, 1977, in Mentor, OH; the son of Richard A. Seymour and Sarah (Gilchrist) Kaufman.

Nathan graduated from Elderton High School in 1996 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. For the past 20 years, he made his home in Maryland and Washington, D.C., where he was a member of Maryland Christian Community Fellowship Church. Nathan devoted his life to teaching Health and Physical Education, serving students with passion at Columbia Heights Education Campus in Washington, D.C.

He had a gift for connecting with kids and a sense of humor that brightened every room. His faith in Jesus was central to his life, and he strived to live it out with joy and strength. Nathan was passionate about staying active and studying Scripture, and loved movies, dogs, music, and sports.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his father, Richard Seymour, and his wife Jackie of Elyria, Ohio; his mother, Sarah Kaufman, and her husband Ronald of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania; his brother, Alan Seymour, and wife Erin of Silver Lake, Ohio; his sister, Stacey M. Cecconi of Rural Valley; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Rachel Cecconi, and Kayla, Lydia, and Preston Seymour.

Friends and family will be received from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA, with his brother, Alan Seymour officiating.

Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.
