Ruth E. McCafferty

Ruth E. McCafferty, 95, of Rimersburg, PA passed away on Sept. 10, 2024, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1929, in Kissinger Mills, PA, to William D. and Margaret Gertrude (Carnahan) Elder.

Ruth graduated from Rimersburg High School in 1947. She was a member of the former Rimersburg United Methodist Church and attended the Faith Fellowship Church. Ruth had owned and operated the previous McCafferty Dairy Garden from 1964 to 1977 but her greatest joy came from caring for her family.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, David S. McCafferty (Sandi) of El Cajon, CA, Kevin C. "KC" McCafferty (Ann) of Front Royal, VA, and Hugh L. McCafferty of Klamath Falls, OR; daughters, Michele L. Nakich (John) of Berlin, PA, Mary Kyle Bailey of Rimersburg, and Heather A. O'Donnell (Clem) of San Francisco, CA; fifteen grandchildren, Corey McCafferty (Wendy), Kevin McCafferty, Jr., Katie McCafferty, Emily McCafferty, Meredith Dill (Ben), Erin Danielson (Katie), Zachary McCafferty, Matthew Nakich (Meredith Sullivan), Jenny Nakich, Becky Courtney (Kyle), Curt Bailey, Stephanie Tubito (Bill), Evelyn O'Donnell, Jack O'Donnell, and Tommy O'Donnell; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles M. McCafferty, Jr. whom she married Jan. 11, 1949 and who passed away on Jan. 4, 1989; her brother Delbert "Jim" Elder; and sisters, Helen Rickard and Maxine Ruffner.

Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Pastor Andrew Flower officiating.

Interment will be at Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.

The family would like to thank the Clarion-Forest Hospice and the excellent caregivers during her final days.
