Gladys E. Yount

Gladys E. Yount, 99, of Ford City, PA, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born on October 27, 1913 in Byrnedale, Elk Co., PA, the daughter of Warren and Grace (Orton) Henry.

Gladys graduated from Kittanning High School and was a member of United Rockville Lutheran Church. For over 40 years she owned and operated-along with her husband-Yount's Grocery Store in Shay, and she loved interacting with all the people she was privileged to serve. Gladys was one of the original founders and long-time member of the Kittanning Twp. Fire Department Auxiliary, and she was also participated in the former Marshall Grange.

In her spare time Gladys enjoyed playing bingo, solving crossword puzzles and painting by number. She also loved writing poetry, especially for special events in the lives of family members and friends. They will always cherish these poems and never forget her loving and kind spirit.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Jay A. Yount and wife, Wanda, of Kittanning, and Wayne E. Yount and fiancee, Wilma Yingling, of Ford City; daughter, Deborah A. Murawski and companion, William, of Ford City; grandson, Carl Baker and wife Jeanne; granddaughters, Sandra Baker, Kathleen Shirey, Jacalyn Marsh, and Pamela Marchione and husband Dave; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a step-grandson, Eric Petrovsky; and family friends, John Evans, Sr. and companion, Peggy Foster, and Paul Burkett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Wayne E. Yount, Sr., who passed away September 16, 1982; daughter, Nancy Quinton; great-grandson, Danny Cross and brother, Lloyd Emerson Henry.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM at United Rockville Lutheran Church, 720 State Route 2020, Ford City, on Saturday, November 24, 2012, with the Rev. April M. Dailey officiating.

Burial will be in United Rockville Lutheran Cemetery, Ford City, Pennsylvania.
