Shirley M. Yount
Shirley M. Yount, age 76, of Ford City, formerly of Kittanning, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at Armstrong County Health Center.She was born March 8, 1935 in E. Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, the daughter of Wilson Merle and Ethel Mae (Cloak) Johns.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Kittanning area and previously worked as a seamstress for 12 years for the former Big River and Brady Apparel. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and liked playing bingo. Reading was a favorite hobby of Shirley's, and romance novels were her favorite. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles R. Yount, Jr. and wife, Pam, of Kittanning, Rick L. Yount and wife, Terri, of Ford City, and Timothy W. Yount and wife, Margaret "Meg", of Apollo; daughter, Tammy McAnnich and husband, David, of McGrann; six grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; brother, Amos Rosenberger and wife, Maggie, of Knoxdale; and sisters, Ruby Lightfoot and husband, Joe, of Ohio, Hanna Atwood and companion, Marlin Fitzgerald, of Kittanning, Bertha Schall, and Myrt Kaplan and husband, Ben.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 50 years, Charles R. Yount who died September 6, 2005; brothers, Merle Johns, Harry Johns and William Johns; and two sisters, Margie and Mildred.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, where funeral services will immediately follow at 8 PM with the Rev. Ed Walters officiating.
