Margaret A. Derrick

Margaret A. Derrick, age 83, of Templeton, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 29, 1928 in Houtzdale, PA, the daughter of Paul Edward and E. Helen (Carey) Irwin.

Margaret grew up in Osceola Mills, PA and met her future husband, Calvin F. Derrick, while roller skating in Philipsburg, PA. She married Calvin on June 18, 1949 and they moved to Templeton in 1956. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and participated in the Pine Twp. VFD Ladies Auxiliary. Margaret worked seasonally at Brody's Department Store in downtown Kittanning, where she enjoyed connecting with people in the community. She collected Fenton Glass and has a beautiful collection. In her free time, she loved to bowl and participated in card clubs with her friends. Margaret devoted her life to caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her love for them will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years, Calvin F. Derrick, who she married on June 18, 1949; daughters, Judith A. Bish and husband, Robert, and Patricia J. "Tricia" Slee and husband, Robert, all of Templeton; grandchildren, Robert J. Bish and wife, Jennie M., Holly A. Bish and Marci J. DeChesero and husband, Ron; great-grandchildren, Jordyn K. and Kolton N. Bish, and Carson Derrick DeChesero; brothers, John Paul Irwin and wife, Vanetta, of Osceola Mills, PA and Robert Irwin and wife, Louise, of Hollidaysburg, PA; and sister, Jane Bouch, of Brookville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Eugene Irwin.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, 101 W. High St., Kittanning with Father Ron L. Cyktor, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co.
