Carolyn G. Ankeny

Carolyn G. Ankeny, 97, of rural Kittanning, PA, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana.

She was born September 15, 1921 in Ford City, PA, the daughter of Eugene D. and Carrie E. (Feder) Toussaint.

Throughout her lifetime, Carolyn had a strong work ethic and worked at several area restaurants. She was very meticulous and took great pride in caring for her home and flowers. Carolyn especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Eugene J. Toy and wife, Faye, of Crestline, OH, Charles D. Toy, of Ford City, and Gary L. Toy, of Shelocta; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Donald K. Ankeny, who died in November of 1982; one infant daughter; sisters, Gertrude Elash and Alice Toussaint; two infant sisters who died at birth; and daughter-in-law, Debbie (Zubalik) Toy, who died in November of 2005.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton.

Additional visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 10 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alfred Kimmel officiating.

Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.
