Juliette G. "Judy" King

Juliette G. "Judy" King, age 89, of Kittanning, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 19, 1928, in Altoona, PA, the daughter of Raymond J. and Elizabeth (Taylor) Guyer.

Judy graduated from the McConnellsburg High School and then attended Penn State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1951. She was a teacher for Arin Intermediate Unit 28 after she fulfilled her true calling - raising her family.

Judy was an active member of the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church where she was a past elder, deacon, and a Sunday school teacher. She was a charter member of the Nellie Bly Questers and a volunteer for ACMH Auxiliary at the snack bar. Judy liked knitting and cross stitch but her most enjoyable times were spent with her family. She will best be remembered as a kind and gentle person who loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David T. King of Kittanning, and William W. King and wife, Louisa, of Gypsum, CO; daughters, Susan K. Bower and husband, Ed, and Kathy King, all of Kittanning; grandchildren, Benjamin K. Bower and wife, Julie, Maggie B. Sikora and husband, Mark, Nathan T. King, and Colden M. King; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Bower Jr., Lincoln Bower, Molly Kate Sikora, and Matej Sikora; a sister-in-law, Carol Ann Smith; a cousin, Callie Blose; many nieces and nephews, and the Ron Shellhammer and Bret Atwood families, and the Chuck Niceley and Damon Dosch families; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband, William R. King whom she married August 9, 1952 and who died March 31, 2013.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, 106 Brown Rd., Freeport, with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Slate Lick Cemetery, Freeport, Pennsylvania.
