Roger L. Gamble

Roger L. Gamble, 65, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018, as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born January 25, 1953 in Indiana, PA, the son of Clair T. and Freda M. (Dunmire) Gamble.

Roger was a lifelong resident of Shelocta and graduated from Indiana High School in 1971. He married his best friend, Bonnie L. Baker, on June 30, 1973 and they shared nearly 45 years together. Roger worked in the gas industry since his marriage and in 2001 began working at Questa Petroleum, where he stayed until his passing.

Roger's sanctuary was the great outdoors and his second home was his camp in Forest County. He was a skilled fire builder and loved hunting, especially for spring gobbler and trophy buck. Roger was also a fan of Elvis and liked to dance and sing. Family was first in his life and he was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. His daughters will always remember how he gave the best hugs. Roger made sure to remind everyone "to keep their powder dry" and left a legacy of putting others first.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Bonnie L. Gamble and their poodle, Ty, of Shelocta; daughters, Angela L. Yackuboskey and partner, Jodi Wiltenburg, of Apollo, Natalie L. Murdick and husband, Ryan, of Shelocta, and Tosha E. Garzoni and husband, Shawn, of Shelocta; grandchildren, Lawren, Aiden, Corbin, Evan, Skyler and Gavyn; brothers, Clair W. "Bud" Gamble and wife, Geraldine, of Shelocta, and Richard T. Gamble, of Indiana, PA; sisters, Helen Lewis, of Indiana, PA, and Barbara A. Schooley and husband, Ed, of Harrisonville, PA; and a large circle of great friends and family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Linda Cottrill and Betty Clark.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arlene Schweitzer officiating.
