Virginia D. Mohney

Virginia D. Mohney, 86, of Creekside, PA, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, at ACMH Hospital.

She was born October 22, 1930 in Plumcreek Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, the daughter of Robert Miles and Phyllis E. (Kimmel) Bark.

Virginia was a resident of Creekside all of her life and graduated from Elderton High School in 1949. She loved caring for her home and family, and she also enjoyed volunteering at Brookview Country Manor in Creekside. Virginia was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and had a special place in her heart for her dog, Ginger. She loved cooking and baking, and had many special memories of baking Christmas cookies with her family.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Amanda S. Bartosiewicz, of Creekside; granddaughter, Samantha L. Sharp and husband, Paul Jr., of Creekside; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob, Christian and Xavier Sharp; nephew, Randy Walker and wife, Connie, of Rural Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Percy E. Mohney, whom she married March 15, 1950 and who died January 27, 2011; sister, Betty Jean Walker; and son-in-law, Paul Bartosiewicz.

Friends will be received from 1-3 PM and from 4:30 PM until the time of funeral services at 6 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 205 Gastown Rd., Shelocta, PA, with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers officiating.

Interment will be in Gastown Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
