Gloria Spera

Gloria A. Spera, 80, of Rural Valley, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 18, 1936 in Yatesboro, PA the daughter of Emelio and Josephine (Maffei) Lamber.

Gloria graduated from Shannock Valley High School in 1954 and was the class valedictorian. Since 1978, she worked alongside her husband, Guy, as the co-owner and secretary of 85 Building Center in Rural Valley. Gloria enjoyed reading and belonged to the Rural Valley Civic Women's Club. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Yatesboro and the Catholic Daughters of America. One of Gloria's greatest joys was helping to raise her grandson, Michael.

She will be remembered with love by her sons, Guy (Debra) Spera, III, and William (Tricia) Spera; daughter, Anna Spera; grandchildren, Michael and Sydney, all of Rural Valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Guy Joseph Spera, Jr., whom she married June 9, 1956 and who died June 15, 2017; brothers, Emanuel and William "Sonny" Lamber; sisters, Delores "Dee Dee" M. Kiral and Corrine Hockenberry; and son-in-law, Cliff Ankney, who died in August of 2016.

At Gloria's request, services will be private.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Yatesboro, PA.
