Warren Crissman, 93, of Templeton, PA, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his residence.

He was born May 9, 1923 in Reynoldsville, PA, the son of Luke H. and Margaret A. (Leech) Crissman.

Warren was a resident of the Templeton area for more than 60 years and served as a drill instructor for the US Army during World War II. In 1948 he earned his Bachelor's Degree in history education from the former Clarion State Teachers College, and in 1949 received a Master's Degree in Letters from the University of Pittsburgh. Warren had many passions in life, one of which was educating young people and investing in their lives. He was a history teacher at Emlenton High School and Kittanning High School, and also worked for the FBI as an investigator for the Pittsburgh office.

Warren loved animals; for many years he ran Spruce Lane Kennels and bred cocker spaniels and wiener dogs. He also loved working on the farm and raised horses, cattle and sheep. Warren enjoyed working on cars and ran a transmission repair shop out of his home. He was a member of Widnoon United Methodist Church and VFW Post 7132 of Rimersburg.

He will be deeply missed by his brother, Joseph D. Crissman, of Templeton; sister, Mildred Bole, of Rimersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Allene C. (Morris) Crissman, whom he married July 1, 1941 and who died September 6, 2013; brothers, Jim and Darwin Crissman; and sister-in-law, Elva Crissman.

Friends will be received from 4-6 PM on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main St., Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 10 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis A. Fetter officiating. Military services will be performed at the funeral home by American Legion Post 454 and VFW Post 7132.

Burial will be in Tidal Union Cemetery, Templeton, Pennsylvania.
