Mary Ellen Walters

Mary Ellen (Scott) Walters, age 86, of Kittanning, PA, went with her Lord on April 7, 2011, at Erdley's Sunnyside Personal Care Home, Kittanning.

She was born on April 29, 1924, in Applewold, PA, the daughter of John E. and Adeline (Shoop) Scott.

She was a 1943 graduate of Ford City High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed decorating cakes. She loved to travel the country and go camping with her husband. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ford City, PA. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Rev. Edward A. Walters and wife Diann of Kittanning, Gary Walters and wife Betty of Meadville, Richard Walters and wife Kathy of Kittanning, Barry Walters and wife Cindy of Jeanette; nine grandchildren, Brian Walters and wife Amy of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric Walters and wife Tracie of Kittanning, Christy Cumberledge and husband Wayne of Rural Valley, Lee Ann Piorkowski and husband Michael of Meadville, PA, Richard Walters, Jr. of Rural Valley, Gary Walters, Jr. and fiancé, Stephanie of Meadville, Jaclyn Robinson and husband Jon of Jeanette, Barry Walters, Jr. and fiancé, Maria of Jeanette, and Nicole Walters and fiancé, Mitch of Jeanette; fourteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Donald Scott and wife Roberta of Tampa, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Edward August Walters who died March 23, 1993; three brothers, John Scott, Tom Scott, and William Scott; and two sisters, Doris Graham, and Elizabeth Sheasley.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning

Additional visitation will be held at 10 AM on Monday, April 11, 2011, at the funeral home until the time of services at 11 AM with her son, Rev. Edward Walters officiating.

Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, E. Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.
