Karen A. Hill

Karen A. Hill, 83, of Templeton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, PA.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1942, in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Robert A. and Margaret J. (Williams) Shafer.

Karen formerly attended Templeton Wesleyan Methodist Church. She loved to read, cook, and try new recipes. Her family cherished her homemade apple butter, pumpkin pies, and traditional Sunday dinners of roast beef and mashed potatoes. Karen was a generous, giving person and a devoted mother whose life was centered on her faith and family. She will be remembered with love for the warmth and kindness she shared with all who knew her.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Jack C. Hill, whom she married on July 7, 1963; her sons, Stephen Hill and wife Lois of Hartleton, PA, and Jonathan Hill and wife Shelby of Clarksburg, PA; her daughters, Esther Asbury and husband Wayne of Greenbush, VA, and Rachel Monceaux and husband Garland of Scott Depot, WV; her grandchildren, Travis, Trent, Zachary, Jonny, Becky, Kwanita, Makayla, Caleb, Abigail, and Payton; and eight great-grandchildren.

Karen is also survived by her brothers, Ricky Shafer, Randy Shafer, and Bobby Shafer; and her sister, Peggy Coski, all of Ypsilanti, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Terry Shafer.

Services were held privately.

Interment is in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
