Charles Raymond Harpster, Jr.

Charles Raymond Harpster, Jr. 83, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Quality Life Services, Sugarcreek.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1939 in Ebensburg, PA, the son of Ardreine Pearl (Updyke) and Charles R. Harpster, Sr.

Charles was a 1957 graduate of Central Cambia High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1961 from Penn State and his Master's Degree in 1965 from IUP. Charles was a math instructor at Lenape Vo-Tech from 1966 until his retirement 1995.

Charles was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning where he served on the church council and sang in the choir. Charles belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Kittanning #244 and the Coudersport Consistory. He was a member of the Ford City Sportsman's Club and enjoyed hunting, refinishing furniture, and Barbershop Quartet singing.

He is survived by his wife, Juliana M. (Sziraki) Harpster, whom he married on July 22, 1988; his sons David J. Sziraki of Leechburg and Scott C. Harpster of Biglerville, PA; grandchildren, Derian J. Sziraki, Paige Pacek, and Daisia Harpster.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jonathan Miles Harpster.

Per Charles wishes, service were privately held.

The family would like to thank Quality Life Services, Sugarcreek, especially the caregivers on Willow, for the excellent care of Charles.
