Nancy Joan (Moore) Capone

Nancy Joan (Moore) Capone, 79, of West Kittanning, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, PA.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1943, in Kittanning, the daughter of John and Faynetta (Stivanson) Moore.

Nancy was a lifelong resident of Kittanning and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1961. She attended nursing school after graduating from high school. She served many years as a council member for West Kittanning Borough, was a member of the Soroptimist Club of Armstrong County, worked at the Associated Credit Bureaus of Pennsylvania, Inc., and was the editor of the Armstrong County Legal Journal for over 20 years. Nancy was very active with the American Cancer Society fundraising participating in Daffodil Days to raise funds. Nancy was a lifelong and very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning and was a member of their Ladies Circle. She sang in the Faith Presbyterian Church Choir with her husband, George. Nancy loved her flower garden and enjoyed spending time with her family and her wonderful friends. She always threw the greatest Easter and Halloween parties for her family!

Nancy will be missed by her stepchildren, Gregory L. Capone and wife, Mandi of West Kittanning, William Louis Capone and wife, Mary Lou of Indiana, Lynn Miller and husband, Donald of Ford City, Mary Lou Volchko and husband, BZ of Poland, OH, and Ann Louise Bailey and husband, Bill of Dallas, TX.

She is also survived by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, Brian (Gara) Atherton, Kristi (Jim) Livengood, Angela (Craig) Krejocic, Jennifer (Gary) Turner, Jason Capone, Jessica (Shawn Mayo) Capone, Julie (Dan) Ohm, Justine (Jesse) Hynes, Joshua Volchko, Jacob Volchko, Jordan Volchko, Nicholas George Capone, Shannon (Barb) Strotman, Matt Strotman, and D.J. Strotman, Drake and Isabella Atherton, Chance Duncan, Hannah Livengood, Connor Duncan, Colton Livengood, Michael Krejocic, Kylee Krejocic Leo Krejocic, Jaysa Capone, Shaylee Capone, Megan (Justin) Ramsell, Ethan, Paige, Asher Strotman, Harmony Hoggatt and Lane Policz, Brooklyn, Vincent, Valen, Finlee, Ava, Austin, Cooper, Crew; and her dear cousin Sue Taylor (Mick) Stubbs, and godson, Andrew.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, George Louis Capone, whom she married on July 28, 1984, and who passed away on Nov. 27, 2006.

Friends will be received from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of funeral service at 11 A.M. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, with the Rev. Carl A. Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, PA 16201.
