Richard G. Starks

Richard G. Starks, 79, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at his home.

He was born on March 23, 1943 in Grosse Pointe, MI, to Ivan and Jean (Ferris) Starks.

Richard served in the U.S. Army and worked as a coal miner for Tunnelton Mining. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his cats and spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Iva (Meyer) Starks; two sons, Steven Starks and wife, Carrie of Monroeville and Christopher Starks of North Apollo; his daughter, Regina Starks of MI; two grandchildren, Hannah Starks and Conner Starks; and his sisters, Deloris Hildman of MI and Caroline Blankenship of Knoxville, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be private.

Interment will be Mt. Union Lutheran Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
