Patricia A. "Pat" Elwood

Patricia A. "Pat" Elwood, 83 of Ford City, PA and Eustis FL, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021 at her home in Ford City, PA.

She was born on March 20, 1938 in Kittanning, PA to Frank and Florence (Claypool) Dougherty.

Pat was a member of Union Baptist Church in Slate Lick and attended the First Baptist Church of Kittanning. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from IUP and taught home economics for 20 years at both Kittanning and Ford City High Schools.

Pat enjoyed spending her winters in Florida with her husband, Bill, quilting and playing bocce. She adored her friends and will be lovingly remembered for her caring nature and being a devoted mother and grandmother.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, William J. "Bill" Elwood of Eustis, FL, Richard J. Elwood and wife Melissa of Lancaster, KY, Chester F. Elwood and wife Becky of Kittanning; daughter, Pamela Lacanienta and husband Ruel of Cedar Hill TX; her brother, Ray Dougherty and wife Loretta of Butler, PA; sisters, Nancy Bielski and husband, Tom of Glenshaw, PA and Judy Keener and husband, Bill of Kittanning; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William W. "Bill" Elwood, who passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021; her brother, Tom Dougherty; and her sister-in-law, Frankie Dougherty.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA 16201.

Additional visitation will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Kittanning, 334 Arch Street, Kittanning, PA 16201 until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM with Pastor Mark Brady officiating.

Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA 16262.
