Iva Jane (Boyer) Geidel

Iva Jane (Boyer) Geidel, 92, of Ford City, PA, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Vandergrift, PA to Owen K. and Edna M. (Yount) Boyer.

Iva Jane graduated from Kittanning High School. She married the love of her life, Purn Ivan Geidel on May 23, 1950 and they enjoyed 60 years of love and dedication. They loved to play music together and were snowbirds that enjoyed wintering in Eustis, Fl.

Iva Jane was a talented quilter who received many ribbons from the Dayton Fair. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, paper quilling and all types of crafts. Iva Jane loved spending time with her family especially great-grandson Tyler, who lit up her eyes with pride. She loved watching Tyler #44 play hockey, soccer, baseball and also enjoyed family bingo game night.

Her memory will be cherished by daughter, Zoe (Geidel) Akhtar and husband, Munawwar of Mt. Lebanon, PA; her granddaughter, Elizabeth L. Banks and husband, Keith of Mt. Lebanon, PA; a great-grandson, Tyler Keith Banks; a brother, Larry O. Boyer and wife, Donna of Decatur, IL; a cousin, Virginia Bruce of Indiana, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Purn E. Geidel, who passed away on Jan. 25, 2011; her son, Daniel M. Geidel; her sister, Lorna G. McNutt and her brother, James W. Boyer.

Friends and family will be received from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201.

Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., with Rev. Matthew Vatalare officiating.
