Larry A. Miller, Sr.

Larry A. Miller, Sr., 73, of Apollo, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his home.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1947 in White Twp., Pa., to Vernon G. "Dutch" and Helen L. (Frailey) Miller.

Larry resided in Apollo most of his life. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Gastown, Pa. He retired in 1987 from Tom Smith Strip Mining as a heavy equipment operator and previously worked for Raymond Schall Strip Mining. Larry enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

His memory will be cherished by his sons, Larry A. "Bud" Miller, Jr and wife, Judy of Apollo, Grant E. Miller and wife, Tracy of Apollo, Oscar Miller and wife, Nancy of Apollo, Richard Miller and wife, Sue of Vandergrift and James Miller of Brackenridge; his daughters, Patty McAfoose and husband, James of Kittanning and Annie Johnston and husband, John of Spring Church; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother, William V. Miller and wife, Sandy of Rural Valley.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon G. "Dutch" and Helen L. (Frailey) Miller and his wife Helen "Faye" (Boarts) Miller, along with the mother of his children, Connie Mae (Waldenville) Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 9 A.M until the time of funeral services at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Clark Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers STS officiating.

Interment will be in Gastown Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
