Rebecca E. Dunbar

Rebecca E. Dunbar, 79, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at Fair Winds Manor in Sarver.

She was born Nov. 5, 1941 in North Buffalo Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, to Finley B. and Lilly Belle (Toy) Livengood.

Rebecca grew up in the Kittanning area and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1960. She then lived in DuBois for 35 years before moving back to the Kittanning area in 2000. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Kittanning. Gardening was one of Rebecca's favorite hobbies and she even owned and operated her own greenhouse, Hazen Growers for many years in Hazen, PA. Music was another one of her passions.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Aaron M. Dunbar and wife, Mary of Kittanning and Andrew M. Dunbar and wife, Stephanie of Kittanning; grandchildren, Lindsey Merlock, Aaron J. Dunbar, Ralph J. Dunbar, Mercedes Dunbar, and Mikayla Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Eli and Natalie; brother, David Livengood and wife, Betty of Kittanning; sisters, June Mechling, Priscilla Beckett, and Susan Fennell all of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Merle R. Dunbar, who passed away on Sept. 8, 2008; brothers, Lynford Livengood, Rodney Livengood and Dick Livengood; and sisters, Twila Fulton, Alma Miller, Rosie Ritrosky and Lucille Crownover.

Family and friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, Pa.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, Pa. with Pastor Mark Patz officiating.

Interment will be in Whitesburg United Methodist Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa.

Due to current regulations, all social distancing guidelines will be followed. Guests are respectfully asked to wear a mask or face covering.
