Clyde R. Marshall

Clyde R. Marshall, 90, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Creekside, PA, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, NV.

He was born November 24, 1928 in Indiana County, to Kenneth Marshall and Alice (Wilhelm) Marshall.

Clyde was a former resident of Creekside, where his family farm was located. He first worked for the Haws Refractory making bricks for 13 years. He was then employed for 21 years as a coal miner at R & P Coal Company and retired as a miner operator.
Clyde was a hardworking man; he farmed five farms along with his job at R & P Coal and he always provided well for his family. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting. After retirement, he moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1993 where he loved to gamble, drink beer and smoke cigarettes. He also enjoyed growing roses at his home in Las Vegas.

His memory will be cherished by his daughters, Carolyn L. Drye of Saltsburg, Cindy L. Brown of Homer City, and Patty A. Kestner and husband Larry of Shelocta; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Kromer and Betty Harkleroad and husband, Earl, all of Kittanning, PA and his special dachshund Furlong III.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Blanche M. (Mornes) Marshall, whom he married August 13, 1949 and who died Jan. 21, 2008; son Dwayne R. Marshall who died on Aug. 20, 2016 and dogs Furlong I & Furlong II.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 South Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct.26, 2019, at the funeral home, with Rev. Kathy Nice officiating.

Interment will be in Atwood Cemetery, Atwood, PA.
