Shirley Ann Houser

Shirley Ann Houser, 84, of Latrobe, PA, formerly of Rimersburg, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at The Grove in Latrobe.

She was born December 3, 1934 in Hawkville, Armstrong County, PA the daughter of Emmert and Ruby (Young) Henderson.

Shirley loved caring for her family and she was a member of the Baker Street Church of God where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed reading her Bible, baking, making crafts, and writing poetry. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and helping others.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 66 years, Eugene "Gene" Houser whom she married June 7, 1952; a son, David Houser and wife, Terri, of Butler; a daughter, Penny Wiencek and husband, John, of Derry; two grandchildren, Melanie Malnofski and husband, Scott, of Derry Twp., and Joseph Wiencek and wife, Brandi, of Bradenville; four great-grandchildren, Lexis and Madison Malnofski, and Noah and Riley Wiencek; two sisters, Carol Frederick of DuBois and Thelma Kessler and husband, Don, of DuBois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon Henderson; and two sisters, Marion Clouse and Betty Alderton.

Relatives and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. from the time of funeral services at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Baker Street Church of God, 160 Veteran St., Rimersburg, PA, with the Rev. John A. Milliron officiating.
