Leonard Blair "Sonny" ConradLeonard Blair "Sonny" Conrad, 75, of NuMine, PA, passed away Monday, Oct. 8 2018, at ACMH Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born February 11, 1943 at home in Jefferson County, PA, the son of James Blair Conrad and Edna Regina (Bish) Conrad.
Sonny was a former resident of Dayton and graduated from Dayton High School in 1961. For 37 years he worked as a surveyor for PennDot, retiring in 2000. He attended NuValley Presbyterian Church and was a member of the John W. Jenks Masonic Lodge No. 534. Sonny loved traveling on cruises and spending time at the beach. In his free time, he could be found gardening, bowling or playing softball. Sonny also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, especially Rocky.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Loretta (Whitmore) Conrad, whom he married Aug. 13, 1966; son, Leonard Todd Conrad and wife, Serina, of Anita, PA; daughters, Jodi Klingensmith and husband, Doug, of Margaret, PA, Tricia Schall and husband, John, of Indiana, PA, and Tammy Dinger and companion, Ervin Faber, of Indiana, PA; grandchildren, Vanessa Schirato and husband, Brian, Brandi Swartfager and husband, Clint, Kelsey Williams and husband, Justin, Terry Dinger, and Angel and Jocie Conrad; great-grandchildren, Jake, Eric, Abby, Maddy, Weston and Colton; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; brother, Larry D. Conrad and wife, Karen, of Rochester, NY; and sister, Virginia Diane Atherton and husband, Earl, of Dayton, PA.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ellen I. (Greenawalt) Conrad; granddaughter, Larissa Painter; sisters, Jane Wells and Kathryn O'Donnell.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., 125 E. Main Street, Dayton.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11 AM at on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at NuValley Presbyterian Church, 901 E. Main St., Rural Valley, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Brenda Barnes officiating.
Burial will be in Emory Cemetery, Dayton, PA.
