Mary Ann McNany-Appleton

Mary Ann McNany-Appleton of East Brady, formerly of Valencia and a long time Chicora resident went home to our Lord on Tuesday October 2, 2018 after a lengthy battle with metastatic cancer. She was born on June 19, 1948 in Parker, Clarion County, to the late, Norman L. (Sr.) and Mary Elizabeth Peters McNany.

Mary Ann was a deeply spiritual person who will be remembered for her wonderfully kind and generous spirit. She was a talented artist and enjoyed sewing and hand crafts.

Mary Ann attended Karns City High School and was a 1979 graduate of the Community College of Butler County with a degree in Business Administration. She was a long time employee of Kennihan Plumbing, in Valencia, and later Dollar Bank in Butler until she retired.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and maternal and paternal grandparents; her husband Frank Appleton; and her brother Bob (Rita) McNany of Butler, Pa.

She is survived by her son Michael (Lisa) Thornton of Karns City, a brother Len McNany of Chicora, Two sisters, Pamela Cashmere of East Brady, and Norma Emerick of Quarryville Pa., five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; along with three nephews and two nieces.

As per Mary Ann's wishes there will be no services. Anyone wishing should make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name.
