Barbara J. Kubatko

Barbara J. Kubatko, 94, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born April 2, 1924 in Kittanning, the daughter of John and Anna (Rusnak) Sanko.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of Kittanning and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1942. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America. Barbara was very skilled at sewing and making beautiful crafts. She used her gifts to make items to sell in her store, The Christmas Shed, which she owned for 16 years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing in a card club with her friends, caring for her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Edward J. Kubatko, Jr. and wife, Martha, of Kittanning; daughters, Cindy Elosser and husband, Ron, of Kittanning, Barbara Bowser and husband, Michael, of Kittanning, Terye Kuchta and husband, Michael, of Surf City, NC, and Allyn Transue and husband, Tim, of West Kittanning; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Edward J. Kubatko; daughter, Kathy McMillen; brothers, John and Paul Sanko; and sisters, Louise Bechdel and Helen Sanko.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, PA.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
