Elizabeth A. "Liz" Marguglio

Elizabeth A. "Liz" Marguglio, 77, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Clarion Hospital.

She was born September 5, 1941 in Sharon, PA, the daughter of George E. and Mary E. (Potock) Matkovich.

Liz grew up in Ohio and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1959. In 1962, she graduated from the Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing and throughout her life worked as a registered nurse at Sharon General Hospital, Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital in Farrell, PA, Clarion Hospital, Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clarion Psychiatric Center, AsceraCare and DCI, Inc.

In 1971, Liz moved with her husband, Dr. Anthony Marguglio, to Rimersburg to practice medicine. She spent most of her career working as a nurse in her husband's office and loved serving the citizens of Rimersburg.

In her free time, she could be found crafting, baking or reading murder mysteries. Liz also enjoyed feeding birds and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. She was of the Catholic faith and was known for having a wonderful sense of humor. Liz will be best remembered for her caring personality and the love she had for her family - especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered with love by her daughters, Lisa Palumbo and husband, Michael, of Masury, OH, and Theresa McCall and husband, Kevin, of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Shockley and husband, Ricky, Matthew Palumbo and girlfriend, Caitlin Hull, Kara McCall Hawk, and Kane McCall; great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Kohlton and Kallie Hawk; siblings, Arlene Matkovich, of Hubbard, OH, Richard Matkovich and wife, Sharon, of Hubbard, OH, Carole Whalen and husband, Gerald, of Brookfield, OH, Kathleen Clark, of Hubbard, OH, and Sandra Corsale, of Hubbard, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Dr. Anthony Eugene Marguglio, whom she married October 4, 1969 and who died July 26, 2010; brother, George Matkovich, Jr.; and infant sister, Patricia Matkovich.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main St., Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Trent Kirkland officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Liz's honor to a hospice organization of one's choice.
