Joan Matthews Loring Hadjigiannis

Joan Matthews Loring Hadjigiannis, 74, of Lewisville, TX, formerly of Roanoke, VA and Nashua, NH, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Vitas Hospice in Carrollton, TX, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born November 2, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of James B. and Marie Eileen (Saylor) Matthews.

Joan was a 30-year resident of Nashua where she worked as the human resources director for Windshields America. Her biggest joy was traveling and she especially loved visiting Greece. Joan had recently developed a passion for researching family genealogy.

She will be remembered with love by her husband, Kent Raley; son, Clayton Raley and wife, Mariana, of Georgetown, TX; daughters, Krista Thorsen and husband, Jason, of Frisco, TX, and Ashleigh Story and husband, Travis, of Fayetteville, AR; step-daughter, Aphrodite Bochatey and husband, Joe, of Ridgefield, CT; eight grandchildren; brother, Jules D. Matthews, of Vowinckle, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael M. Matthews; and late husband, George Hadjigiannis.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main St., Rimersburg, PA.

Burial will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
