Betty J. Crissman

Betty Jane Crissman, 79, of Kittanning, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born April 13, 1938 in Leechburg, PA, the daughter of Charles J. and Diamond (Faulk) Fouse.

Betty called Armstrong County home for all of her life and graduated from Leechburg High School in 1956. After graduation she worked at the Penn Grill Restaurant in Leechburg and G.C. Murphy 5 and 10 in Vandergrift. She made raising her daughter her top priority and loved being a mother. After her daughter was older, Betty went back to work for the Armstrong Co. Green Thumb Program and the Red Cross office in New Kensington. Since Betty was an extremely hard worker, she started working the evening shift at Alcoa in New Kensington and continued until her illness would not permit her to do so.

Betty was a member of Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church and was also active in the Vandergrift Presbyterian Church with her life-long friend, Charles Musgrove. The outdoors was Betty's release, and she enjoyed fishing, camping and bike riding. She also found comfort in going to the mountains and Myrtle Beach, SC. Family was very important to Betty, and she always made sure her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew how much she loved them.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Beer and husband, Dennis, of Ford City; grandsons, Andrew J. Crissman and wife, Carrie, of Kittanning, Patrick A. Crissman of Kellersburg, PA, and Eric D. Beer and fiancée, Kristi Donovan, of Millersburg, PA; great grandchildren, Hannah and Taylor Fugini, Tanner Boland, Caden, Kenzie, Ryan, and Hailey Crissman, and Rhyleigh Beer; brother, Charles R. Fouse, of Milton, FL; and nephew, Michael Fouse, of Clarksville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Charles J. Fouse; sister, Marjorie Fouse; and life-long friend and companion, Charles Musgrove; in addition to her cat, Kitty.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of funeral services at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, with Rev. Edward Walters officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leechburg, Pennsylvania.
