John W. Zimmerman, 65, of Adrian, PA, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at ACMH Hospital.

He was born January 3, 1952 in Kittanning, PA, the son of Harry and Ruth (Johnston) Zimmerman.

John was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County and honorably served in the US Navy. For 27 years, he worked as a tire specialist for Specialty Tires of America in Indiana, PA. John was an active member of Montgomeryville Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader. He loved Jesus and had a great faith in God.

John's favorite memories were of those spent with his family and vacationing in Ocean City, MD. He was a friend to many and was known for his caring, giving and friendly personality. John will be remembered as a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

His memory will be cherished by his mother, Ruth Zimmerman, of Indiana, PA; loving wife, Margie (Yount) Zimmerman, whom he married June 12, 1976; daughter, Tracee Barton and husband, Brent, of East Brady; grandchildren, Stephanee Pyle and husband, Christopher, Benjamin Barton, Jacob Barton and Samuel Barton; great-grandchildren, Mayzee and Leroy Pyle; and brother, Jim Zimmerman and wife, Vickie, of Rural Valley.

John was preceded in death by his father and sister, Debbie Clark.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Toy officiating.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.
