Edward W. "Wayne" Altman, 80, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at his residence.

He was born May 22, 1937 in Gastown, PA, the son of Jesse C. and Margaret E. (Frailey) Altman.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Shelocta and graduated from Elderton High School. He honorably served in the US Army during the Berlin Crisis and later was a steel worker for United Foundry and Engineering for 30 years. Wayne loved electronics and spent much of his free time tinkering with objects and building windmills. He loved camping and fishing with his wife and had many fond memories of their adventures together.

His memory will be cherished by his brother-in-law, Merle Hall and wife, the late Harriet (Suman) Hall, of North Apollo; niece, Marsha J. Dufour, of North Apollo; nephew, Edward M. Hall and wife, Candace, of North Apollo; six great-nieces and great-nephews, Amber Lily and husband, Pike of Texas, Edward Hall and wife, Maria of North Apollo, Travis Hall and wife, Nicole of North Apollo, Joy Carol Hall of North Apollo, Mark Dufour of Virginia, and Luke Dufour of North Apollo; seven great-great nieces and nephews; and dogs, Maggie Mae and Bo.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents and loving wife, Delores Jean "Sis" Hall Altman, whom he married June 9, 1973 and who died June 5, 2014.

Relatives and friends may visit from 4 PM until the time of funeral services at 6 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA, with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers officiating.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
