Dewey G. "Bill" Buzzard, Sr., 90, of Templeton, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his residence.

He was born August 23, 1927 in Templeton, the son of Wendell Herman Buzzard and Elizabeth Belle (Schall) Buzzard.

Bill lived in Templeton for most of his life and honorably served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Templeton Wesleyan Methodist Church and repaired used appliances for resale. Bill also was a bus driver for the Progressive Workshop and worked at Drexall Brickyard, retiring in 1987. Following his retirement, he did carpentry work during his free time. Bill would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and was known for being a loving and loyal husband, father and grandfather.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Barbara A. (Nunamaker) Buzzard, whom he married August 4, 1961; sons, Dewey G. Buzzard, Jr., and Jeffrey T. Buzzard and wife, Tammy, both of Kittanning; daughters, Mary Lou King and husband, Keith, of Templeton, Connie Lynn Livengood, of Kittanning, Mae Belle Bond and husband, Randy, of Templeton, and Beatrice A. Miller and husband, Jeff, of Kittanning; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, W. Allen "Al" Buzzard, of Templeton; sister, Marcella Wible and husband, Arnold "Bud," of Kittanning; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sherman and Brady Buzzard; and sisters, Virginia Bowser, Mary Jane Lingler and Winnie Belle Miles.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Templeton, 327 S. Clay St., Templeton, PA, with the Rev. Scott Bennett officiating.

Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.

Contributions can be made in Bill's memory to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
