Barbara Ann Hetrick

Barbara Ann "Barb" Hetrick, 83, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Heritage Meadows Personal Care Home.

She was born September 26, 1933 in Mayport, PA, the daughter of Harold "Peck" and Sarah (Mowrey) Fritz.

Barb was a 1951 graduate of Redbank Valley High School. Barb was well known in the community from working with the public in area businesses, including Clark's Grill with Lawrence and Irene Henry and Shoppers Mart, just to name a few. She concluded her career as a waitress at Greendale Tavern alongside Larry and Mary Boyer, where she worked for 15 years and made many beautiful friends. Barb was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ but most recently attended Kittanning Church of Christ and Harvest Community Church.

She resided in Applewold for over 40 years and considered Chuck and Joyce Nicely and family the closest of neighbors. Barb was a people person and an excellent waitress. Her great sense of humor compensated for her poor sense of direction. She enjoyed people and spending time with her grandchildren. Having an appreciation for the outdoors, Barb loved to go camping. She will best be remembered for her friendliness and her love for people.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott Hetrick and wife, Marsha, of Templeton, Tim Hetrick and wife, Melissa, of Kittanning, and Jackie Adams and husband, Hugh, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Nathan Adams and wife, Tabbatha, Matthew Adams and wife, Erica, Kayla, Alisha, and Alexis Hetrick, and Cady, Brandon, and Dylan Hetrick; great-grandchildren, Treyton Knepsheild, Matthew Schotting, Eli Adams and Olivia Adams; brother, Larry Fritz and wife, Monty, of Springdale; sisters, Lois Sherry, of Distant, and Cheryl Weston and husband, Leland, of Rural Valley; and brother-in-law, Howard Kepple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Jackie Keith Hetrick, whom she married February 5, 1954 and who died April 12, 2003; great-grandson Zaden Schotting, and sister, Betty Ruth Kepple.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Harvest Community Church, 143 Reed Rd., Kittanning, with Pastor Sam Swick, Pastor Larry Krause and Pastor Fred Neal, III co-officiating.

Burial will be in the Alcola Trinity Cemetery, Fairmount City, PA.

Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
