Summer Rae Helit

Summer Rae Helit, 30, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital.

She was born July 8, 1986 in Kittanning, the daughter of Joseph F. Helit and Donna M. (Rupp) Hoover.

Summer was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County and graduated from Elderton High School in 2004. She formerly worked at Long John Silver's, Granny's Restaurant and Schrecengost Oil and Gas. Summer was a member of 4-H during her younger years and all animals, especially horses, held a special place in her heart. She loved fishing and hunting, but her favorite moments were those spent playing with her son, Coen, at the playground. Summer will be best remembered for her caring and giving heart.

Her memory will be cherished by her mother, Donna M. Hoover and husband, Paul, of Kittanning; son, Coen Joseph Duncan and his father, Joshua Duncan, of Kittanning; brother, Krag J. Helit and wife, Tiffany, of Kittanning; nieces, Adalyn and Mia Helit; maternal grandmother, Lula Rupp, of Kittanning; aunts and uncles, Deloris Gearhart and husband, Gary, of Kittanning; Sandy Anthony, of Idaho, Donna Jean (Helit) Bowser and husband, Elmer, of Cadogan, and Rich Hoover and wife, Kathy, of Butler; numerous cousins; and step-sister, Miranda L. Maldanldo and husband, Matt, of Florida.

Summer was preceded in death by her father, Joseph F. Helit, who died May 6, 2006; paternal grandparents, Francis and Betty Helit; maternal grandfather, Homer Rupp; and uncle, William Rupp.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017, at the funeral home, with Pastor Andrew Laddusaw officiating.

Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Dayton, PA.

Contributions may be given in Summer's honor to Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
