Martin "Moss" W. Gilfillan

Martin "Moss" W. Gilfillan, 63, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence.

He was born October 6, 1953 in Butler, PA, the son of Walter and Mary (Rohr) Gilfillan.

Moss worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission as a game propagator but was most proud of his band, Howl. He loved playing the drums, picking the guitar, singing and dancing, and his favorite hobbies were sex, drugs and rock and roll. Moss used his talents to write music and poetry, and was greatly influenced by Jim Morrison and the Doors. He also owned his own DJ business, Moss in a Box. Moss was a gifted storyteller and entertainer, and genuinely loved people. He loved to party with his friends. Moss enjoyed walking around town and getting to know people, and will be remembered for his outgoing personality. He was truly a patriarch of Clarion County.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Maryann White; son, Sean D. Gilfillan and wife, Sirisha, of Lemoyne, PA; a daughter, Celeste Elabiad and husband, Mohammad, of Akron, OH; brothers, Fred Gilfillan and wife, Susie, of Trenton, NJ, Rich Gilfillan and wife, Susie, of Wisconsin, Dave Gilfillan and wife, Mary Lou, of Bridgeport, CT, and Phil Gilfillan and wife, Michelle, of Maryland; and sister, Karyn Gilfillan and significant other, Art Smith.

Moss was preceded in death by his parents.

At the request of the family, services will be private.
