Judith A. "Judy" Bronson

Judith A. "Judy" Bronson, 56, of Dayton, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born May 21, 1960 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Robert Duane "Dewey" and Dorothy Woodene (Riggle) Black.

Judy was a lifelong resident of the Dayton area and graduated from Dayton High School in 1978. She worked as medical assistant for Children's Community Care for a number of years before earning her nursing degree at age 48. Judy then worked at Indiana Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse. Most recently, she opened a boutique in Dayton called Visions Old and New and loved fashion and talking with her customers.

Judy enjoyed gardening and swimming in her pool. She loved DIY projects and was always using her creative talents to inspire painting and remodeling projects in her home. Judy also liked making jewelry and, above all, cherished her family and friends. Judy's ability to bring joy and give love to those around her will be remembered forever.

She will be remembered with love by her mother, Dorothy Woodene Black; husband, Bob Bronson, whom she married May 24, 2003; daughters, Nicole Wills, of Grand Rapids, MI and Jamie Douglas and Janelle, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Jackson and Hazel Wills; sisters, Connie Taylor and husband, Robert, of Callao, VA, Karen Kirkwood and husband, Scott, of Manorville, and Deborah Black and Timothy Walker, of Dayton, PA; step-son, Jacob Bronson and wife, Katee, of Saegertown, PA; step-daughters, Kayla Johnson and husband, Darrick, of Grand Valley, PA, and Emily Bennett and husband, Brian, of Youngsville, PA; step-grandchildren, James, Caleb, Elizabeth and Aaron Johnson; and special cats, Heckle and Zippy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert D. Black; infant son, Shane Douglas; step-daughter, Sarah E. Bronson; and infant step-daughter, Grace Bronson.

Family and friends will be received from 12 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 E. Main St., Dayton, PA, with the Rev. Dennis Howard officiating.

Contributions can be made in Judy's honor to the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, PO Box 997, Kittanning, PA 16201 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
